The workshop aims to explore a number of theoretical and operational questions in relation to competitiveness:
- What is the relationship between competitiveness and sustainability?
- To what extent may sustainability modulate the tourists’ experience at the destination?
- Are competitive destinations those who are able to be a source of wellbeing and enhance tourists’ quality of live?
- How do sustainability and the design of meaningful experiences for tourists contribute to reinforce destination image?
- Given the relationship between stakeholders’ performance and destination competitiveness, which are the main factors that determine stakeholder performance/success?
- How may DMOs involve stakeholders in the process of constructing destination identity, and promoting an authentic and singular image?
- How can social media and ICT management be effectively used as a tool to bring together all destination stakeholders to construct destination image?
